About Easy Setup

Easy Setup provides device setup, configuration and customer-support services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it and how we look after it. We follow the principles of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Easy Setup is the controller of the personal data described here.

Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, and limited technical information when you use our website.

Information Customers Provide

  • Your name and email address when you place an order or contact us
  • The plan and number of devices you choose
  • The type of device you want to set up, so we can give the right guidance
  • The content of any messages you send to our support team

Technical and Usage Data

When you visit our website, we collect limited, aggregated information such as pages visited, referring website, approximate location (country level), browser and device type. We use Vercel Web Analytics for this, which is designed to be privacy-friendly and does not use cookies to identify individual visitors.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website does not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. It may use strictly necessary storage required for the site to function. If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

WhatsApp Communications

If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, your messages and phone number will be processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy, as well as by us in order to respond to you. We only use this information to handle your enquiry. You can always contact us by email instead.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely by a third-party payment provider. Easy Setup does not receive or store your full card details. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the amount, date and last four digits of the card, so that we can match payments to orders and handle refunds.

Why We Process Personal Data

We process your personal data to provide the services you order, to give you technical support, to respond to enquiries, to keep records we are legally required to keep, and to understand how our website is used so we can improve it.

Legal Bases for Processing

  • Contract: to provide the service you have ordered and support you with it
  • Legal obligation: to keep financial and tax records
  • Legitimate interests: to respond to enquiries, prevent misuse and improve our website
  • Consent: where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time

How Information Is Used

We use your information to confirm orders, send setup details and guidance, answer support requests, process refunds, and send service messages about your plan. We do not send marketing emails without your consent, and we do not sell your personal data.

When Information May Be Shared

We only share personal data with service providers who help us run our business, such as our website hosting provider, payment provider and email provider, and only as needed for them to perform those services. We may also share information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as a UK adequacy decision or approved contractual clauses.

Data Retention

We keep order and payment records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, which is usually six years. Support messages are kept for as long as needed to help you and then deleted or anonymised. Aggregated analytics data does not identify you.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if an issue occurs.

Customer Privacy Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email support@easysetup.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Cookie Choices

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Because we do not use non-essential cookies at present, there is no cookie banner on our website.

Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party websites or apps, such as WhatsApp. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.

Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service provider. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
